of Ancient lore and magic
The Temperate Lands
Kailani - a realm where the jungle breathes with magic. The air hums with the chants of Ancient lore, thick with the scent of lush foliage and punctuated with the sharp calls of bird and beetle. Towering trees, long graceful vines, a white sand coastline of crashing ocean waves, big floral blossoms, magnificent waterfalls and dark, swirling pools... it's obvious why the Ancients disappeared into the tropical lands of Kailani.
The Snow Lands - a frozen tundra where the howling winds are endless and the cold is deadly. Vast sheets of ice stretch across dark sea waters until they fracture into jagged teeth, grinding against the rocks of barren earth. Storms scream, snow dances, lights of the aurora pulse and flash, and glaciers groan with the tides. And below? A giant, secret shell hides away a magical people the Temperate Lands is blissfully unaware of.
Thurnadan - a deceptive paradise rotting from within. Rolling hills, golden harvests, valleys of vibrant greens, orchards, vineyards, quaint villages, and dense forests... and at Thurnadan's heart is a castle of gleaming spires, bright blue flags, shiny stone, and sparkling stained glass. The queen is just as beautiful as the land she rules, but her mind is in torment, her intentions self-serving, and her magic malicious.
Sharnin - a land that has been through hell over, and over, and over again. Cliffs of jagged, dusty stone, dried forest of straining trees, coarse crops, thing streams, dark skies, and long, sullen plateaus. The large, luxurious castle at Sharnin's center is often neglected by its corrupt and greedy King.
The Lands Beneath
the Tumultuous Seas
The Aerial Lands
of Matral lore and magic
of Elder lore and magic
Kept secluded, hidden, and protected for thousands of years, the Lands Beneath are tucked away, deep in the Arctic Isles, below seas of ice and snow. Within an enormous shell filled with winding whorls, is a massive city build by mayhem, boredom, and greed. The houses are stacked upon one another, crammed up against canals filled with eels and peppered with vines, sea glass, and shiny rocks. Each building is made more haphazardly than the next, thrown together using bricks of wet sand, whale bones, drift wood, and clay. And at the center of the city of waterways and precariously balanced residences, is a gleaming castle littered with gems, jewels, gold, weaponry, water, and wealth of every sort.
Kept secret, aloft and alone, for thousands of years, the Aerial Lands is a string of floating islands above the reach of bird or bug, sight obscured by cloud and storm, ever-adrift on the winds. It's rocky foundations are awash with sands of green, bright pink, and burnt yellow, that sweep together into pyramids. The valleys of each island are pockmarked with wide-trunked baobab trees and lined with rippling savanna grass. Thin streams criss-cross vents of flaming hot air, and wide, flat stone make paths from coconut-like pods in which the Descendants reside. No queen or king resides within these lands, for even with the control over the forces of magic, the islands move as the winds will.

THE MOTHERS OF MAGIC
Ancients - godlike embodiment of Order. Unyielding, structured, righteous, with an omniscient knowledge of history and fate. They are creatures of fire. With wings of taunt leather, bones stronger than steel, armored bodies, long trident tails, scales that gleam in shades of red, black, silver, and gray, and purple, these creatures of power and determination breathe flames heated by rage.
Elders - godlike embodiment of Chaos. Wild, mischievous, without morals or cares, greedy, unfettered, playful, wicked, with a fierce focus on claiming the future for their own. They are creatures of water. With slick skin of sleek scales in shades of green, blue, turquoise, sliver, gray, and black, rows of piercing teeth in jaws of iron from which venomous saliva spits and sulfurous smoke and flame emerge, these creatures of maliciousness are self-serving, fearsome, and uncontrollable.
Matrals - godlike embodiment of harmony, the void between opposites. Thoughtful, tormented, hopeful, aware, involved, determined to embrace both Order and Chaos, with the power and fortitude to set fate into motion, and secure balance. They are creatures of air and fire. With hardened, knife-like feathers, a dual set of flaming wings, a tail of arrowheads, eyes of passion and energy, and beak-like jaws of gnashing teeth, their bodies are covered with scales that coil and shine in shades of yellow, orange, bronze, gold, red, black, and amber. These creatures are masters of time and intension.
